Welcome to Gad Games...we are back (from the 90's)!
We are a small game design company specializing in online multi-player turn-based games.
2010 saw the resurrection of Gad Games, as we had been dormant since the mid 90's.
Back in the 80's & 90's we were a thriving company, producing several highly successful Play-By-Mail (PBM) games.
Currently we are working on a fantasy game called Ilkor: Dark Rising.
It will be a single character RPG game focusing on many of the traditional elements and features of PBM that we believe have not yet been ported across to the web.
Gad Games has been out of action for 10+ years but we're now back!!
The Past: We were originally founded by Sean Cleworth way back in the late 80's. The business sprung from humble beginnings, running from his bedroom while at school to it's peck where it was a full-time company run from it's own offices, employing some 20+ staff and servicing 20,000+ players through an offering of such games as World of Chaos, Soccer Supremos & Middle Earth.
The Present: We are currently small and have no games running! We like it this way...for the moment. For several years now Sean has been toying with the idea of re-starting the company and has been working on a new game design. 2010 brought with it the rebirth of Gad Games & a new game called Ilkor: Dark Rising which is still in the design & early development phase run on the HeroQuest Gaming Platform.
The Future: It's unlikely Ilkor will be ready for beta testing until the end of 2011 (earliest) but our aim is to offer the game for free. It will be web-based, returning to the traditional PBM elements that we enjoyed and feel makes such a game successful.
We would love to hear from you, new and old alike.
Originally based in the UK, Gad Games is now being run from South Africa.
If you are a player or a game-master from the 'good old days' then drop us a line, it would be great to catch up and chat about old times.
We are also happy to talk about Ilkor: Dark Rising, our newest project, should you be interested.
